Hurumaun- Art

This week for in Hurumanu Art we have been focusing on planning about our stop motion and doing some storyboards and making our people out of clay. I am in a group with Anneleise, Kineka and Chloe and it has been success through week 8 and this week. We had to discuss with our group who is going to be doing which role and Anneleise and I are the directer, Kineka is the drawer and Chloe is the camera person.

My story is about a girl named Trinity who has just started High School and on her first day she gets teased about her clothes/style by two girls named Victoria andAmber and a boy came into the story and helps Trinity and the boy named you Carlos. I am making a Carlos, Anneleise is making Trinity, Chloe is making  and Kineka is a making Victoria. 

What I found challenging was making the people out of clay because it wasn't staying still and it's hard to make the clothes.

DLO Maths/ Interchange.

This week for Maths we have been focusing on our blue text book. The blue text book is the highest book for maths. The page we had to work on is 128-130. There was a challenge on the maths book and it was telling us to made our own question up, so here is my Question I made up myself.

Gardening- Tane Mahuta

Today for Tane Mahuta for CIP in period 2, we did some more gardening. As you know we do gardening every Wednesday for CIP. Me, Anneleise and Janel were pulling out some weeds out of the dirt,Why we pull out weed because we want to make more areasso we could plant some more plants. Me, Anneleise and Janel were putting plants into the dirt for period 3. The plants that we plant at period 3 were Broccoil and Salary.

After we finish weeding, Mr Tisch poured small little seeds into our hand for us to sprinkle it all over the dirt and then we left them sitting there waiting. 

After all of that, we started to help the others because we had nothing to do. We help by cleaning up all the gardening tools. The period was success for me and I really enjoyed doing Tane Mahuta and I am glad that I pick Tane Mahuta but we will be back into it next Wednesday.

    

Sciences- Solar Energy.

Solar Energy

Aim: To find out which colour attracts the suns heat.

I think that Silver will attract the sun heat because it's clear and it will react because it's metal and metal always in the sun and it's gets really got.

Hypothesis:

Materials:

1. Heat lamps.
2. White cardboard cup.
3. Clear plastic cup. 
4. Black cup.
5. Thermometer.
6. Tin foil.
7. White paper
8. Black paper

Steps

1.  Collect materials  
   2. Set up the Cups:
   - Plastic cup covered with the black plastic 
   - A Tin foil Cup
   - White cup 
   
   
   3. Set up the Heat Lamp
   4. Add the water into each cup
   5. Start recording the temperatures of the water.

Conclusion

Today in science we have started on a new experiment called Solar Energy. I was in a group of 3 with Qyn andBianca. The tin foil cup, a white cup and a clear plastic cup covered with the black plastic. 

Manakitanga Art.

In Hurumanu Art we have been focusing on planning about our stop motion and doing some storyboards. Later on the story, a girl called Brittnary become into the story and become friends with Trinity and help her because she was getting bullied. Ella West Vist

When period 1 started, we went into the auditorium and a women called Ella West came in and talk about her books that she wrote. She is Author , she is women that enjoy writing books. Here is some facts about Ella West.

• The government gets more money off her books, than she does. 
• She wrote lots of books
• She has a dog that has different eyes colour, one is brown and the other one is blue.
• We like lots of colours.
• She doesn't have a favourite book
• She like writing books about murder.
• She lives in Dunedin

What I enjoyed the most was that we learnt lots of interesting stuff about her and her life and that she was telling us who is in her family and the little bit about how she wirtes her books. Here are some books that she wrote.

    

Here is a little creative story that I have worte.

I felt anxious, I felt scared. What if people judged me who I am. I don't know what to do with myself but my name is Ryan and I speak different to others. I speak Swedish but i'm scared that people are going to judged me about my language. I am started school tomorrow and I am really nervours, I don't know what to do anymore!.

Water Cycle.

Last week for Sciences we had done a different experiment. What we did was Water Cycle. We had to get a zip lock bag and had to draw the wate cycle onto the bag and we carefully add 1/2 warm water and 2x drop of blue food colouring into the bag. I wasn't there last week because I was sick but I do know a little bit of the experimet. We did two experiment, but I don't know everything about it. Here is my steps and Materials and my outcome of water cycle.

• Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
• Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
• Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
• Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
• Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.

Climate Change and Greenhouse gases

AIM: To look at Climate change and the Greenhouse Effcet.

The Greenhouse Effect experiment

Materials

1. 1 Plastic Bottle.
2. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid.
3. 3 Heat Lamp.
4. 2 Thermometer.
5. 100 ml water.
6. 1 Rubber Bung.

Procedure:

1. Come and collect all of the Materials from Mr Plamer.
2. Setting up the lights,bottles,Thermomter and bungs.
3. Mr Palmer add the Baking soda mix with 100 ml of water.
4. Wait for 5 mintues and start recording the temtperture.

Variables: 

All water added to the bottles was from the classroom tap.

Conclusion:

This week we have been learning around Climate Change and the Greenhouse Gases. The bottle of water didn't heat up as much as the bottles of gas in it. What I learnt was that the whole experiment because I have never heard of Climate Change. I really like this experiment and I hope I could do it again:)

  

Paniting Rocks/ Tane Mahuta.

This week in Tane Mahuta CIP, We have been trying to clean up the outside classroom in period 2. Anneleise and Janel Iwere pulled the IVY plants and we were stacking them into a pile. Anneleise and Janel was pulling the IVY plant out and I was putting the IVY plants into the piles.

For period 3 we were painting some rocks. We got to pick our own rock and paint our own desgins. My desgin I did was my background blue, putting hearts and making a maoir desgin on it. My Maori Desgin I did was a koru. We were paniting rocks because of our outside classroom and the teacher wanted more colour and desgins in the classroom so it looks pretty. DLO/ Maths

Today in Maths Interchange we have been focusing and learning how to do our new strategy. The Splitting Strategy.  This Startegy is really easy for me because I learnt this when I was a year 6 in priamry. I have made a DLO on goggle doc and I hope you like my video and learnt something off it, Thank you :)

Another day of Tane Mahuta

Today is a another day of Tane Mahuta. We had to plant some plants in the garden across where the oil, I did the plants with Anneleise and Addyson, the plants that went plant is Cauliflower, Beetroot and Cabbage. Why we planted the plant was because so we have veges at school and so we can eat them.

We had to find some thick sticks to try and make a shelter for the plants so the plants will get more heat. Today was really hot day but it was still fun to do because my opinion I would rather get all dirty then doing school work.

After all of that, we started to help the others because we had nothing to do. We help by picking up the wood and then we put the wood at the back where all of the wood is. The period was success for me and I really enjoyed doing Tane Mahuta and I am glad that I pick Tane Mahuta but we will be back into it next Wednesday.

Learning Conference Slide

Last week on Thursday, we had our Learning Conference. We had to create a Google slide talking about our learning and what we have been doing in school. Our Google slide is a slide with all of our learning on it. On Thursday we finish after period 3 and My interview was at 2.45pm. My slide is talking about my favourtive blog post, My CIP stories about what i have done so far in CIP, My Hurumanu Learning Stories, Last Math Work, Reading Plus Result and Snapshot about my spelling Task.

Before the interview I was shaking because I was nervous, I was talking to my mum that I was nervous I thought I would not do a good job but if we got there. I actually did a good job I was proud of myself by explaining it really good and my Mum was proud of me too.

Introduction:
Throughout this Hurumanu we have been doing Digital Tech, we have been focusing on our issue. We got to make a game or app or a story for the issue we are doing. We had to research about issue and find out about how we are making our game because if you didn't do that you wouldn't even know what to do. My issue that I am focusing on is Social. For social , I am doing instafamous. I have made a game about instafamous.
My game is about someone helping the instafamous people by collecting the camera very quickly because if they don't the paparazzi people will come and collect the cameras. They will go and try and take lot's of photos of the instafamous people. The meaning behind it is that some Instafamous don't always like paparazzi people taking photos of them all the time because they get all frustrated. I have been trying my hardest to make this game actually work.

Reflection:
In Digital Tech I am actually so proud of myself because I have been working really hard on this and I try my presonal best to get this to a higer standard. I was enjoying finding information about my issue and I didn't know about. I got frustrated because I really didn't know how to actually create my game but I finally got to the end and made my game how I wanted it. Gamefroot was a hard thing to make a game for me. I really like having the opportumiy to get to know and work with Mr Carter. My favourtive thing I like in Digital was making my game and communicating with Mr Carter.

Hurumanu Maintenance Challenge?

1. What did you find Challenge?
Trying to not get angry because my team wasn't listening and I get really frustrated.

CIP- Tane Mahuta

In Tane Mahuta we have been trying to make a outside class room and trying to make our garden places tidy. My area I was doing was garden, I was turning the soil over in a row and then we are going to plant some plants.

We got to pick where we what to go and what we want to do. The area I am at is a area that we are trying to turn the soil out and trying to make the garden area more tidy by planting plants. For CIP we do different things on Wednesday but for Tane Mahuta, we are trying to make a outside class room and trying to make the another area tidy.

In week 3 we started moving the tyres that had dirt in them and carried then at the far back of the field. Once we finished doing that ,we started digging all dirt from the tyres into piles and then removed the sheet that were under the dirt. I couldn't remember the another things in week 3 because I went home at period 4.  

This week we were softering the soil to make it softer for the plants. It was a lot of work because we had to do it for a hour and my back was so sore. We find some worms and I think the worms when they help to increase the amount of air and water that gets into the soil and they also can't survive in the sun other wise they could dry up and die. After we lossing the soil, we added fresh soil on top and mixed it until there was no lumps. 

The peirod was over and we had to tidy up our mess that we made. Next Wednesday we are back there and doing it again.

My Desgin Process

For Digtal Tech, We had to make a blog post about how we are going to make our game and show people what our issue is. I have made a plan about what my issue is and information about my issue. My issue is Social and I am going instafamous and I have created a game about my issue and how I will solve it.

Reflect about P.E- Term 2

Throught out Term 3, we have been doing Beep test, Dodgeball, Maths about how long the field is. I will be talking about Beep test l and how you do it. Beep test is really simarly but it gets really fast. Beep test is a running activity, for the beep test I got up to level 4 stage 2 and I was really tried after it. The beep test is a really fast running activity, first you have to run in the middle of the beep sound and then it will go faster and faster. It's say you're level and stage when it go's. 

Dogeball rules are: 

1. 2 teams start by standing on the bench

2. Run in on whistle to collect the ball

3. Rest back to green line before you throw it 

4. You get out by being hit on the full (no bonces) with a dogeball

5. You can also get someone out by catching their ball on the full

6. When you get out you move to the opposite end of the gym

7. To get back in your team, hate has to throw you the ball and you catch it or hit the bball hoop

8. No face shots

9. Be honest

Is our teamwork improving?- My team that i'm in, my team doesn't listen and there is always only two in my team doing all the work and that is me and Sierra. The only thing that my team is doing well is talking to each other kindly,. My team could work on by listening and always communicating.

Hows your fitness level?- My fitnees level is getting way better like it was last year. I think i'm fitness level is good because everyday I do netball training every wednesday and iIplay I netball game every saturday.
