Live Aid

This week for social studies I am learning about Live Aid, what i'm learning about is who they are, what they do, what is Live Aid. Here is some question I have to answer about my top favoutive song from Live Aid.

Here is the my favoutive song from Live Aid.

 Do They Know It's Christmas

Question about Live Aid:

Is this a form of Protest?

There are plenty of songs that signal the arrival of the Christmas for me but to truly get me into the spirit of the season, I need the jolt that only Bono screaming “well tonight thank God it’s them/ instead of you” can provide. I need “Do They Know It’s ChristmasThe 1984 benefit single by the British supergroup Band Aid is my favorite Christmas song. Written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money to combat famine in Ethiopia, it features some of the biggest British pop stars of the day, including Duran Duran, Boy George, Phil Collins, Sting and Paul Young (not to mention New Jersey’s own Kool & the Gang).

Do you think one person could start a similar concert in 2020?

Yes Boy Gerorge because I think he is the best singer in there and he was the one that insprie me in the music video. I think he should start a concert himselves.

How significant is music and musicians today in affecting change in the world?

Well my opinion is that music makes people feel like they are home, they make people calm when they are going through a hard time. With today’s technology, music has become even more of a part of our life experiences, we listen to it on our drive to work, when we go to parties, while we study, when we exercise, and in so many other settings. Yet we see fewer and fewer people taking to the streets with picket signs because of its messages. There are, however, still musicians who hope that their words will inspire change.

Here is my map where they had there concert at.
