Helping Friends Puppet show - Drama

Tueday 28th of May we had Drama and Health. We had to be in our form classes and Sh my class we had to stay in the auditorium, Sh did a puppet show and I was with Anneleise and Janel. We made a puppet about a bully that was being mean to a bold girl and she sarted crying and there was a gril that was a life saver by telling the bully off and making the bold girl happy again. Our puppet show was called 'Helping Friends'.We have never used puppets before so it was different to use a puppet in a show before. It was really funny doing a puppet show and I couldn't stop laughing. To be honest, I really didn't know what I was doing yet I still really enjoyed myself.

Revolution Performance Tour

Revolution Performance Tour 


On Tuesday 28th of May, We went into the auditorium and there was Revolution group. Year 7/8 and year 9/10 were watch the perfromance. A Revoloution is all about dancing and about Reggie life experiences. They did a little dances at the start and then Reggie is the most important one in the group and he show us some sing on a saxophone but the songs that everyone knows. A group of Revolution girls team went up and performed a hip hop dances, WOW it was so awesome. I wish I could dances like that.

Two of the Revolution members sang a song called I'm so tried from Lauv and Troyes. They were awesome too. Then Reggie told us his life experience when you was little. OMG his life was literary so sad and horrible, I just wanted to give him a big hug. I started crying because this life back then was just disgusting. He knows what bullying is and I just wish I had a opportunity to talk to Reggie about my life and what he would do if you was me?

Reggie is amazing! When he was telling us everything, I saw Reggie looking at me a lot and plus I was a the front so I was really really close and I think he knew something was wrong in my life.
My experiment on Tuesday was sad and amazing at the same time because back in Reggie life he wanted to die and that is the same as me but honesty I really wish I had the opportunity to talk to him but I had a amazing and sad experiment and I really hope the Revolution team comes to Hornby High!

Mars-Science

Wheels
The wheels have individual steering motors and the steering capability allows the vehicle to turn in place, a full 360 degrees. The wheels also allows the rover to swerve and curve making arcing turns. 
Solar Panel
The main source of power for rovers comes from Multi- Panel Solar. The Solar Panels purpose is to provide energy, not to fly.  
Laser
From more then 20 feet away, Super Cam can fire a laser to study rock targets smaller than a pencil point. That lets the rover study spots it can't reach with its arms.      
Camera
The rover has several camera's focused on engineering and science tasks. Some of the camera help the rover land and the others are the eyes to help drive around on the surface. 
Shovel, rock pick,drill
The Mars 2020 will gather samples from Martian rocks and soil using its drill. The rover will then store the sample cores in tubes on the Martian surface. This entire process is called "sample caching".


2. In groups of 3 you will Design, Draw and Make a Mars Rover out of Lego Technics.

Today in science, we were talking about Mars. I was working with Janel, Annelise, Bailey and Khaylanie. We first watched a video of a rocket carrying a rover blasting off into space and then to mars. We also had to draw a picture of a rover with all of the parts/Labels and started making a rover out of Lego

What I have learn't in this science lesson is that a mars rover hasdifferent kinds of parts and has to have several cameras on itself. I've also learn't that the solar panels only provide energy but not to fly. Overall I liked finding out facts about Mars and Rovers and I enjoyed doing this.

Hurumanu drama questions about mental health

What is mental health?
A preson that regard to their psychological and emotional and wellbeing. It's also about you're brain and how your brain is working or thinking.


When I am:  1. Angry: My Sister being annoying
                    2. Happy: Hanging out with Anneleise and spending time with my family
                    3. Stressed: If I don't finished my work on time.

How do I deal with my emotions?
Talking to someone that I trust/Mum


Who is the best person to talk to when: 1. I am at home? Why?
                                                          2. I am at school? Why?

1. My mum is the best person to talk to because she the one that always understands and she always make me feel like I can talk to her and then my mum will go and talk to the Teacher or Mr Scott.

2. The counsellor Mrs K because she a counsellor and she always telling me feekback what I should do when something is going wrong and she will always understand and help what I am going throw.
                                                         


Going to the Buddhist Temple for the first time.

Buddhist Temple.

On Tuesday 14th of May, 7/8sh, Ts,Tz,Bh went to the Buddhist Temple, it was my first time going to the buddhist temple. We started off sorting our groups out. We had to make 2 lines but in 2 classes the 2 lines had to be, Sh,Ts was in one line and that was group 1. Tz and Bh was in group 2. We went inside first with the owner of the place and sat down in a room, We listen to him about what 3G and 4G words mean and are. These are the words that means about 3G. Do good deeds, say good words and say good thoughts. 4G words were Giving Confidence, Giving Joy, Giving Hope and Giving Converience.

After we talk about 3G 4G words went outside to get water tattoo and then we went into the movie making room and made a beautiful flower and we watch a movie about what the Buddhist Temple is. After we went up stairs and explored around the Buddhist Temple. They show us the Arts/Pictures they made and show us what the meaning is about. After they show us the pictures and arts we went into a library and show us what the library is about. The library was very small for group one, There was all of books in there but it was all chinese books.

Once they showed us around the Buddhist Temple we went into a big room and did this thing where we had to pour water on each shoulder of this doll and say, I will do Good Deeds, Say Good Words and Think Good thoughts. And also make a wish. The man that was showing us around he asked us if we want to ask any question about what we did today.

After that all happened we got bell and the bell says the 3G 4G words, we went down stairs and got something to eat and drink outside. We got a biscuit and a water and in my own opinion, I didn’t really enjoy the biscuit because it taste like playdough so I just put it in the rubbish.

Later that day , group 1 and group 2 gathered together outside and the man said “tell me what all of the 3G 4G words are” and they answer all of 3G 4G words. After he talk to us we onto the bus, my class ⅞ sh and ts we on one bus and the other classes went on the second bus and we back to school.

The time we got back from the Buddhist Temple was 11:30 am and we just went back to our classes and ate a little snack because we missed morning tea, after that we just went to the classes that we exposed to do on tuesday.

I enjoy the Buddhist Temple and I will like to go back again some time.

Balloon Chemistry - Science

Aim: To see which chemical 

mix creates the most gas.

Hypothesis: I think both of the experiments will have different reactions, or maybe one of them will fail and the other will work successfully.       


Materials:

  1.  Baking Soda.
  2. Salt. 
  3. Vinegar.
  4. Plastic Bottle x2.
  5. Balloons.
  6. Science Spoon. 
Steps: 
  1.  Put the dry ingredients in the balloon.
  2. Put the wet ingredients in the bottle.
  3.  Wait and see what happens.

My DLO Srategies /Maths

In maths this week we have been learning a new strategies. It's called use the column method for addition questions up to 3 digits. Today I have a DLO video to show ourselves explainning how to slove the new strategie. Barefoot-Science




In groups of 3 you are going to need to use your forensic knowledge to solve a crime. You must use the web page: Barefoot Burglar Evidence

  3. Write the results of your findings and convince a jury of your peers


The Crime

At approximately 7:15 a.m., Friday morning, Mrs. King, the science teacher, thought something was fishy as she walked down the hall and noticed that her door was open. She walked into her classroom and immediately discovered that the small aquarium had been broken and her prized gold fish were gasping in the sink. Beside the broken aquarium were the shattered remains of the pink piggy bank that had been on the shelf above the aquarium. A can of blue paint was spilled on the floor. Footprints of a barefooted burglar led to an open window. Bits of a white powdery substance were found next to the broken, empty, piggy bank. The only other item found was a half-eaten large chunk of chocolate candy.

When the police arrived they immediately began to gather forensic evidence.





Dan the Man

Height : 176 cm
Alias: The General
Dan was wearing a woolen general's uniform with small holes when apprehended in the woods. He claimed to be gnawing on wood for moisture and insects to practice his survival training. His teeth look like a beavers from gnawing. His wife complains that she never has any baking soda due to Dan's compulsion about storing clothes in mothballs. He thinks the baking soda takes away the mothball smell, so he stuffs his pockets with the substance. Also, his wife reports that her giant chocolate kisses continually disappear from the candy cupboard. He blames their dog Patton, an English bull terrier, who patrols the neighborhood. His neighbors report that Dan loves the military. He was very regimented about playing taps on his bugle every day at sunset until an irate neighbor broke his bugle. Dan has been trying to save money for a new one.
Peg the Leg

Height: 152 cm
Alias: Lucky Lady
Peg is a librarian known for hanging horseshoes and four leaf clovers in her library. Employees say she is so superstitious she insisted on carpeting in the library instead of laying tiles so she would not step on the cracks. She wraps construction zone tape around open ladders so no one can walk under them. Cola bottles litter her office, which she drinks with chocolate chunks. Her teeth are chipped from knocking the bottles against them. She is always throwing salt over her shoulder for good luck and keeps a salt shaker in her purse. Her alibi is that she was busy closing open umbrellas the morning of the crime.



Jake the Jock

Jake the Jock is known for quoting statistics on every sport from boomerang throwing to sled dogging. His neighbors report that he is the neighborhood pitcher for baseball games. Last year a baseball hit him in the mouth and knocked out his front tooth. This has cramped his eating style of chocolate chunks, candied apples, and corn on the cob. His wife claims that on the morning of the crime Jake was rubbing his hands with cornstarch to keep them dry in preparation for an important baseball game.





Lou Lou

Height: 160 cm
Alias: Sweet Tooth
Lou Lou is so addicted to sugar that she never leaves home without it. She loves to bake sweet things and has an entire pantry full of sugar bins. She claims to have been baking her famous chocolate chunk cookies the morning of the crime (although not a morsel of cookie or chocolate chunk was left when the police arrived.) Lou Lou rarely wears shoes, which often causes her to slip and break things, especially her collection of ceramic pigs.

Evidence:
  • Fingerprints: Sticky, 'swirl' fingerprints were lifted from the aquarium and piggy bank. 
  • Footprints: The painted footprints were measured and were for 26 cm feet. 
  • Teeth: The chunk of chocolate candy was collected for examination. It appeared there were teeth imprints.
  • White Powder: The white powdery substance by the piggy bank was carefully placed in a plastic bag and taken to the forensic chemist for identification . It had very small grains and when mixed with Iodine it reacted making the colour brown. It did not have a smell.

Conclusion: 
This is the second experiment we have done today. This experiment was really interesting. I think for the suspects is 2 people not one. I think it is Dan the man and Lou Lou.

Because Beaver Teeth and Baking soda are the same with Dan the man and Lou Lou shoes size is 10.6 and fingerprints are loop and that is what Lou Lou has. So I think it is both of them. If you think it is something different tell me.
